No error. Supply and demand, 1852 bids for quota of 1851.

Not really 10k. Because the dealers will take into account that next COE Cat A will sure shoot up, so at most they will give a possible 5k-6k discount off the list price..

Cannot rah, COE bidding is a zero sum game. The more people buying cars, the higher the COE will rise - everyone will be worse off. But the less people buying cars, the higher the number of people will benefit (up to the level where quota = bid = $1 COE.) Hence the parato optimal is limited to the quota of COE, anything more than that and every player will be worse off.
hurhur. confirm a lot of people will go.... "let's go tomorrow!" but tomorrow is too late already confirm plus chop.

Haha all the dealers probably working OT to come up with new price list.
My 2 cents' worth.....
The reason why this month's COE price is $2 is because the number of bids submitted is around the quota, hence the number of bids is not large to cause a big jump in prices.
Hence, I feel the most a car dealer can deduct is $5000 per car. Because if they cut too much, there will be a strong influx of customers, as a result, they might risk being unsuccessful in their first few bids. COE will go up and the cycle repeats itself.
I don't really understand why we should be happy about this. Rather, the group of people who should be rejoicing are those who have bought their cars during the previous round of COE. Now that the COE has dropped, the dealers will refund the difference to them! Afterall, if we decide to buy now, the COE that we ultimately get will not be $2.
its real!!!
I watched the news.... There's 1 dealer who had 2 orders immediately after the news broke.

this doesnt shows how kiasu singaporeans are..

They are certainly "smart".
This will only benefit those who just book a car.
