Hi,
I'm new to this forum. I'm thinking of getting a Kia Cerato Forte. Anyone able to provide some useful feedback about this car - fuel efficiency, engine noise, maintenance issues??
Many thanks in advance.

to TS... start from mycarforum.com...
this is the wrong place to come to for decent reviews of any types of cars...
Or you can view the Kia Cerato Forte thread @
its only as good as the price gets,
depends on what you want the car for...really.
45k is really a steal for a decent mode of transport. It has almost all the right gadgets the market has to offer.
Keyless entry, push start engine, roomy interior, good looks, decent fuel economy..
if your concern is $ and transport only go for it.
Can forget about the japanese make, If only I can turn back the clock...
it should be 10k less than avante..
but forte got more feature though....
korea car = cheap. dun expect to much.

Actually, nowsadays the feature and level of built are quite comparable with the Japanese make.
But the price difference is at least 10k different.
When u X this with eg. 7 yrs loan, it can be quite an amount to chip in.
Singapore car + maintenance = exp..
unless you've got spare cash and clearly define goals and means to owe and substain the car, go with your choice of make
If not, Korean cars are defintely more than enough..
what i say is:
kia forte should be 10k less than avante... 40K
avante should be 10k less than lancer GLX... 50K
Lancer GLX should be 10k less than Altis...60K
Altis should be 10K less than civic... 70K
Golf should be on PAR with civic....80K
(my perfect scenario, lol)
Add $10,000 to your price quotes in 5 years' time.
That's where COE is heading.
5 year time???too long...
by then the cost of car should be reduce further..
all the FT migrated to a better land, less demand for car...COE plunged...
and your jazz will go for 30K with COE included, then you got a high paying job that give 5k every month...
then u buy 2 jazz for 2 different color to drive on the odd and even day,
.........
O how you longed for that day isnt it?
How I wish...
wow such a good day ahhh...
Kia Cerato Forte seriously changed my view about Korean cars. It used to be plain ugly but with this Cerato Forte, Kia has give competitors a huge problem to think about, how to make cars, that look good and cost very little with decent performance. If you are not big on performance (Singapore buy what performance cars? Beware that the audience for your "performance" might just be the TP), then this car is the car to go for I would think. I myself am seriously tempted by the 2.0 litre version but well I am not abt to change cars yet so hehehe.
It's a bargain. Nice looks, long equipment list and low price. Go for it. It's funny why it's still not that popular in singapore.
Its ok but if you're concern about pick up(0-100kmh sprint) then it's not yours. But i have to admit this car is very steady on high speed.Accessories wise thumbs up.Quite reliable but not sure for long term usage depends on who is the owner too.Any good car if fall into the wrong kuku drivers sure the car suffer be it performance, maintenance or exterior.

Simple its the perception of most peoples that Korean and Malaysian cars are still inferior compared to Jap and continental makes even though times has change and so does technology and quality.Best thing is that you test drive, satisfied own it.Do not care what others have to say as you're the one paying.
the latest Kia Cerato Koup shld have changed some views on korean car...realli chio.
i think kia is now offering 5 yrs unlimited millage warranty? Anybody just bought a forte?
kia sounds like "scared" in hokkien.

ya unlimited. think it is only for the engine + transmission only.
suggest: you travel on you car to mongolia and come back monthly la..
then engine spoilt claim a new 1 from cnc. if they deny, then court case , print on newspaper la.. sue cnc....shiok bo?
There's no perfect car in my opinion, but the Forte is one that is almost perfect.
Now those Forte SX auto models have the Push Start engine button function.
Sounds cool.
